Dear Parents,
I am the parent of a teenage daughter who has been on seven trips with Hero Holiday, four of which I attended with her. The first trip that my daughter went on, I imagine my concerns were the same as the ones you possibly have right now. Is the drinking water safe? What about illnesses? What are the accommodations like? Concerns with supervision and safety? I as a parent had to look at the pros and cons of my concerns verses the potential affect this experience could have on my daughters life forever. There are dangers in everyday living and I decided that this experience was way more valuable then the possible dangers that I preceived. I know now that I made the right decision, and do not regret it in anyway! The Hero Holiday Staff are well experienced and take every precaution to make sure the safety and consideration of each participant is of utmost importance. For me, there was also great comfort in knowing that I can contact the Hero Holiday staff at anytime if needed. Because of Hero Holiday, my daughter’s outlook on life and appreciation for the simple and basic needs that we as a society take for granted, has given her a view of what is required to make a difference.
